The Luminescence AI Fashion Collection was designed with Midjourney for AI Fashion Week ’23.
The Concept
Luminescence is an AI Fashion Collection meticulously crafted from opulent, iridescent, bioluminescent fabrics that awaken with a mesmerizing and ethereal luminance as the wearer moves. How does it work?
Tiny, bioluminescent organisms embedded within the biodegradable fabric create waves of soft, pulsating light that gracefully flow across the garments.
As the wearer moves, the garments respond, emitting a gentle, rhythmic glow that traces the body’s contours, creating a mesmerizing, organic light show.
The colorful patterns dance harmoniously with the wearer’s every step, creating an otherworldly aura of elegance and sophistication.
My Collection for AI Fashion Week ’23
The original Luminescence AI Fashion Collection was created in November ’23 in Midjourney V5 for AI Fashion Week ’23. As you can see, these designs are quite different from the second edition I dropped in ’24, made with V6 (beta).
History of the Bioluminescent Dress
Like so many times with generating AI Art, it only took one tiny mixup by the Midjourney bot to spark a whole new idea in my mind: A Bioluminescent Fashion Collection.
Initially, I wanted the woman to stand in a bioluminescent ocean, but Midjourney made her wear a gorgeous bioluminescent dress instead.
These happy accidents are still one of my favorite things about making AI Art and what continually keeps it fun and unpredictably creative!
